COURSE DESCRIPTION
This comprehensive CME program is designed for cardiologists and internists, offering an in-depth update on key aspects of cardiovascular medicine. Through a case-based format, Mayo Clinic faculty will highlight practice dilemmas and contemporary management strategies. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • describe how to manage patients with valvular heart disease;
  • identify cardiovascular risk factors in patients without known coronary artery disease;
  • explain treatment for the patient presenting with ischemic heart disease;
  • develop a comprehensive approach to the clinical evaluation of patients with systolic and/or diastolic heart failure; 
  • interpret common ECG tracings and cardiac arrhythmias; and,
  • describe treatment options for rhythm control in atrial fibrillation.
