DESCRIPTION
This is a weekly clinical case conference in which all patients admitted through the epilepsy monitoring unit are discussed for potential epilepsy surgery. This is a multidisciplinary conference as well. Results of the conference case discussion directly impact the patient.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended primarily for epilepsy neurologists, neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons, and EEG technologists.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify appropriate patients for surgical intervention.
  • Apply ways in which safety can be improved in the epilepsy monitoring unit
  • Assess newly approved epilepsy medications
  • Create individualized prognostic information tailored to the individual patient
