DESCRIPTION
The Metabolic Interesting Case Conference is a conference where a broad spectrum of metabolic hematology cases to disseminate experience, discussion, innovation, and project germination. Cases may include protein characterization including quantification and functional assays such as HPLC, Hb F flow cytometry, oxygen dissociation, RBC enzyme, RBC membrane test results correlated with genetic testing reflexed by Metabolic Hematology. Cases may include peripheral blood and sometimes bone marrow findings. Cases are presented as digital data images with salient points discussed at all levels including diagnostic and known of projected clinical impact/follow-up. When appropriate, brief scholarly review of supportive key articles is also presented to provide literature references for further self-study and continuing education.

M.D., Resident Fellow, Scientist Researcher PhD, Allied Health, and Genetic Counselors
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify phenotypic, laboratory and/or molecular features for subclassification of various non-neoplastic hematopoietic conditions.
- Apply ancillary testing modalities in the diagnosis, prognostication and treatment of non-neoplastic hematopoietic conditions.
- Correlate specialized testing results into a final integrated report, as appropriate.
