By the end of this session, learners should be able to:

• List indications for perioperative rescue TEE use
• Describe how to obtain TEE views to visualize tamponade, saddle pulmonary embolus, and regional wall motion abnormalities
• Identify contraindications to tPA use and weigh the risks and benefits of thrombolytic use in massive pulmonary embolus
