LEARNING OBJECTIVES

- Explain the sources and mechanisms of exposure to cobalt and chromium in medical implants.
- Identify and describe the symptoms and clinical signs associated with neurotoxicity due to cobalt and chromium exposure.
- Describe how lab test results, such as NfL and heavy metal concentrations, help to assess the neuronal damage in patients exposed to cobalt and chromium.
