Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Describe electrical impedance tomography & its application in ICU mechanically ventilated patients
  • Describe EIT’s potential application in daily clinical practice for the management of patients with acute respiratory failure
  • Examine the literature regarding utility of EIT during an optimal peep study in ARDS patients
  • Critique the literature assessing the optimal approach to liberating patients from mechanical ventilation assisted by EIT
