DESCRIPTION
These will be monthly education meetings for the HIM division to improve the educational experience of our staff physicians and APPs. The goal is to provide a mix of clinical update series, as well as topics in professional development. The sessions will help increase clinical knowledge/skills, and also expand on professional development topics such as medical education, quality improvement, etc.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended primarily for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Resident Fellows, and Allied Health Professional.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate improved quality of the care that our physicians/APPs provide to patients with the new information they have learned at the Education Conference.
- Integrate factors to improve academic involvement of physicians/APPs in the division, including increased academic rank, membership in the academy of education excellence, and an increase in the amount of providers performing presentations.
- Apply strategies they learn at education conference to their role as medical educators, improving their teaching strategies and feedback tools.
