DESCRIPTION
The conference is divided into two half hour blocks. The first half is devoted to non-transplant liver cases, both consults and in-house, during which a liver pathologist presents the pathology of interesting/instructional cases using a multiheaded and projecting microscope. Hepatologists and GI/Hepatology fellows attend and provide clinical discussion. The second half is devoted to in-house transplant cases. Hepatologists and surgeons involved in the liver transplant service are present and discuss patients who have had a liver biopsy during the previous week.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is primarily intended for members of the liver pathology working group. This is intended for physicians, mid-level health care providers, fellows, residents, medical students.

- Identify the histologic features of acute cellular rejection in liver transplant biopsies.
- Formulate clinical differential diagnoses for the various patterns of injury seen in liver biopsies.
