LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize and properly treat high risk low frequency patients during transport
- Compare differing approaches between the different transport teams
- Identify strengths and best practices from all three Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service groups
- Define concepts of care for pre-hospital and inter-facility patient transport
- Conclude that they are responsible for meeting the standards of care set forth in the patient care guidelines
- Demonstrate competent care of the patient during transport
- Summarize key concepts of each patient diagnosis discussed in case study reviews
- Demonstrate the proper steps in caring for the blunt agonal arrest trauma patient
- Explain the pathophysiology involved in a patient with blunt trauma
