DESCRIPTION
Each of our inpatient services have the opportunity to present in rotation, including our inpatient stroke service, inpatient general neurology service, the neurocritical ICU, hospital consult adult neurology service as well as the hospital consults pediatrics neurology service. As some neurologists may not be exposed as readily to the acute presentations of common neurological diseases, this conference fills an important role in the education and management of acute neurological diseases.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for physicians, nurses, and medical students.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify indications for inpatient evaluations of neurological disease.
- Identify the management of neuro-oncological complications.
- Identify fulminant forms of demyelinating disease and appropriate therapies.
- Evaluate infectious and immune encephalomyelitis.
- Identify complications of intracerebral bleeds.
