Foundations of Critical Care Nursing Online CNE Course: Electrolyte Concepts
Electrolytes play a vital role in ensuring function and homeostasis of the body. Fluid shifts and illness puts critical care patients at risk of electrolyte imbalance and subsequent organ dysfunction. This course will review the general concepts of electrolytes in the body and the treatment of imbalances.

This CNE course is designed for RNs, LPNs, and healthcare professionals providing care for progressive and critical care patients.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize signs and symptoms of common electrolyte imbalances
- Specify treatment and management of electrolyte imbalances
- Describe order of infusion when replacing electrolytes
